There are gestures that become poetry and games that transform into novels. It is from this encounter between emotion and words that the Ideario Sport – Sports Book Festival was born, which closes its third edition on November 7th and 8th in Cagliari with two days of dialogues, books, and protagonists from the world of sport.

At the Manifattura Tabacchi, on Viale Regina Margherita, the public will be able to discover sport through the eyes of those who live and write about it: not just technique and results, but emotions, symbols, and values that span generations.

We kick off tonight, Friday, November 7, at 6:15 PM with "The Immortal Gestures of Football." Journalist Stefano Lai will introduce Roberto Beccantini, whose Giocati da Dio (Hoepli) retraces the magic of great champions—from Riva's overhead kick to Zoff's saves, from Platini's assists to Maradona's free kicks. He will be joined by former Rossoblu player Gianni Roccotelli, inventor of the famous "rabona."

Following, at 7:15 pm, "The Myth of the Captain": Gianfelice Facchetti, author of Captains. Myths, Examples, and Flags (Piemme), will discuss with Bruno Corda and former Cagliari captain Gigi Piras. A reflection on charisma and belonging through the names who have shaped history: from Scirea to Baresi, from Zanetti to his father Giacinto.

The second day, tomorrow, Saturday, November 8th, opens at 6:15 pm with "Successes Behind a Net." Journalist Laura Puddu will meet Giuliana Lorenzo, author of "Italvolley. The Golden History of the Women's National Volleyball Team" (Diarkos), along with Federvolley Sardegna President Eliseo Secci. A journey through the extraordinary epic of Alessia Orro's Italian women's team, capable of winning both the Olympics and the World Championships in one year.

The closing event, at 7:15 pm, will focus on one of the Festival's most poignant themes: "Women's Sport and Islam." Alessandra Campedelli, author of "Io Posso. Un'allenatrice di volalli in Iran e in Pakistan" (Baldini+Castoldi), will share her experience of culture, freedom, and volleyball. The event will be led by journalist Francesca Melis Boi, with a presentation by university professor Nicola Melis. Campedelli will also meet with students and faculty from the "Martini" Technical and Economic Institute in Monserrato on Saturday morning.

"The Festival was created to celebrate the intersection of sport and culture," explains Fabio Meloni, journalist and artistic director of Ideario Sport. "Sports literature isn't just a chronicle of victories, but a way to rediscover the educational, ethical, and human value of sport."
