The Figari Film Fest kicks off: 30 short films competing, actor Pierpaolo Spollon among the winners

The 14th edition of the Figari International Short Film Fest begins tomorrow evening in Golfo Aranci, with the screening of the first short films in Cala Sassari.
Over 30 titles in competition, coming from 26 countries and selected by a jury made up of important names from the Italian and foreign cinema scene, which this year includes Eduardo Scarpetta, winner of the David di Donatello 2022 for the film "Qui rido io" by Mario Martone, Michela De Rossi, protagonist of the film "The Many Saints of New Jersey", spin off of the successful series "The Sopranos", Kenan Music, Bosnian director and producer, director of the Omladinsky Film Festival Sarajevo and of the short film market Hvar Film Festival, and Christian Aviles, Iberian director winner of the Short of the Year 2023 award, received from the Short Film Conference for the short film “Daydreaming so vividly about our Spanish holidays”.
But at the Figari there are also special prizes dedicated to the best young Italian actors up for grabs: first of all the Beatrice Bracco Prize, dedicated to the best national performers of the new generation, which this year will be awarded to Matteo Paolillo, protagonist of the successful series " Mare Fuori”, and the Guglielmo Marconi Prize, awarded for 2024 to Pierpaolo Spollon, protagonist of successful TV series such as “DOC in your hands” and “Blanca”.
Recognitions also for the films in competition, selected from over 1,500 received from all over the world and competing in the four main sections National, International, Animation and Regional: among the most coveted are the Rai Cinema Award and the France TV Award, which will allow two short films to be purchased and broadcast by the two broadcasters.
The 8th edition of the Figari International Short Film Market will also be held from 17 and 18 June, the event dedicated to professionals in the short film industry which this year will see the major players discuss the future of short films in Italy and its competitiveness internationally.
