The fifth year of Insulae Lab, the journey between the Island and the Mediterranean, was presented this morning in the conference room of the Fondazione di Sardegna, in the presence of the project's artistic director Paolo Fresu and Mattea Lissia.
Coordinated by the Time in Jazz Association, it's the four-year journey since the opening of the Berchidda Music Production Center. Four seasons of artists and projects, connections and cross-pollinations, but also a near-future of productions and projects.
The press conference featured numbers, a presentation of the key players, and a look at the state of the art, reflecting on music and artists in Sardinia.
Berchidda remains the central location, the creative hotbed, but productions now travel to small and large towns on the island and, above all, overseas, together with the support of local, regional, and national institutions such as the Ministry of Culture.
Insulae Lab aims to be a “connection between past and future, between jazz, music and the multilingualism of art”.
