The eyes of the tiger or those of generosity? The ideological void of the election campaign
On 25 September the polls will reopen: the parties will not be able to be decisive, neither in terms of alignments, nor in terms of political programs reduced to the condition of inconsistencyPer restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
I'm not surprised. I am more likely afraid of the ideological void that seems to introduce and accompany an electoral campaign that would have been reasonable to expect, instead, as characterized by relevant contents calibrated on the practical needs of a country by now on its knees for having been abruptly affected by an economic crisis that appears unstoppable. which, moreover, inevitably, and consequently, has compromised the already rather fragile social fabric in terms of interpersonal relationships.
Despite the existing and emerging "emergency" condition, we are forced, in spite of ourselves, to have to digest Enrico Letta 's "tiger eyes", those of Silvio Berlusconi 's "kindness and generosity" who would incredibly counteract the claims neo-atlantist aspirations with marked anti-Europeanist accents by Giorgia Meloni , who would still like to support Ukraine, taking care of the reconstruction after the conflict against Vladimir Putin's Russia despite the majority of Italians seem to want a marked change of course on the point, as well as the transformations in the "naive" sense of Matteo Salvini , who, for his part, if on the one hand he would like to aspire to offer himself the translated image of a Man of the Institutions, mature and responsible, ready to take on responsibilities of the government that will come, on the other hand, continues irremediably to betray that purpose through its inability to let go of "issues" for co yes to say "safe", such as that on migrants, with markedly populist accents to be, those same issues, perhaps intended as a "lifeline" with respect to a metamorphosis for which he is probably not yet fully prepared.
If it is true, as it is true, that we are the country of the permanent electoral campaign , then it is equally true that we have become, conversely and play-by-force, also the country of rooted abstentionism as a response-consequence to the widespread phenomena of de- politicization of the masses, aware of the uselessness of the expression of the vote for having been reduced, that vote, like a marginal utilitarian component of a "blackboard" score-points valid only to guarantee the ritual and coveted division of seats and privileges inside of the "Room of the Buttons".
Let's be clear: Italy has always been the country of contradictions and ideological contradictions , the country where both Atlanticism and Europeanism have been able to coexist by mutual consent, accompanied, years ago, by a political offer called "micro Gaullist" which it had allowed him, at the same time, to buy Russian oil and to trade, more generally, with the Soviet Union, while continuing to be the most important American carrier on the Mediterranean.
The reference is anything but extemporaneous and is obviously valid to make people understand how lukewarm and lacking substance can be the Atlanticism invoked by Giorgia Meloni only to accredit its potential "premiership" at an international level. Meanwhile, because, in the contingent circumstance, continuing to advocate an acquiescent and servile "loyalty" to NATO, considering it as an indispensable cornerstone of the international system generally understood, as well as advocating the importance of belonging to the European Union, which has always been opposed in its current consistency, as an inalienable objective of its foreign policy, it appears extremely uncertain since it is, with good verisimilitude, the self-reported propaganda vision of a leader "in search of an author", who appears only eager to credit herself at all costs of the real and daily needs of a starving country.
So, why, the neo-atlantist "turning point" of Giorgia Meloni (whose pragmatism as of now could never have been doubted), even if you want to consider everything, however it would seem to impact, contradicting them, with the choices of foreign policy in her time carried out by Silvio Berlusconi in the course of his government experiences, which have had the merit (but for many the de-merit) of offering a third pole to the dynamics of Italian foreign policy, namely the establishment of a solid privileged relationship with Vladimir Putin's Russia, which had had the merit, according to some, of having carried on the micro-Gaullist ideologies typical of the years of the so-called “Cold War”.
Finally, because the unconditional support for the Ukrainian people guaranteed by Giorgia Meloni, entirely acceptable on the humanitarian level (but only on that) since it is a nation now reduced to a minimum in the name of the fight against a right to self-determination existing only on the level ideological and which, to date, would seem to have lost, both in the media and on a practical level, the relevance and attention reserved for it in the months just passed, would seem to appear (this is the emerging impression) as a conditioned reflection of the absence of recipes economic values valid to "reconstruct" what remains of one's own country of reference which, if anything, would seem called to express a useful vote to favor only a specific orientation in terms of foreign policy.
Let's face it: there is a lot of confusion and the political offer, from both coalitions, is far from valuable for failing, the various political parties in dispute, to delimit the realistic field of action in the context of which they would be strongly called to intervene, simply identified, by any responsible citizen, in the achievement of energy independence, which certainly cannot be achieved overnight (and hence the importance of maintaining an attitude of neutrality towards the Russian conflict- Ukrainian), in the control of the so-called "basket" affecting the costs of the shopping cart, in the inversion of the pathological relationship represented by the lopsided dynamics regulating the supply and demand of labor, in the context of which, in the face of the increase in the first , failed to achieve the expected surge in the second due to being severely deficient and underpaid.
In short: on 25 September the polls will reopen, but even to everything wanting to consider, examining the premises of the present electoral campaign, they will not be able to be decisive, neither in terms of alignments, nor in terms of political programs reduced to the condition of inconsistency . But let's be clear: if Enrico Letta's anti-fascism, anachronistic on the ideological level, would seem to surprise us, all in all, and conversely, the reference is not totally extemporaneous because at its root, it would seem oriented to offer a different political response, although not very useful. in the circumstance, to the anti-communism that belonged to Silvio Berlusconi as a complex ideological construction gradually enriched with contents and symbolisms directly attributable to the rejection of statism in and of itself considered in its negative dimension and of all its consequences.
Neither more nor less, both, than latent forms of delegitimization of political opponents. If they then make sense, and are oppositions still capable of provoking the expected reactions of the voting people, this is another question. In a human and social context desperately looking for useful solutions, ideology as an end in itself would not seem to be able to find the desired destination : with all due respect, therefore, by Giorgia Meloni and Enrico Letta, aware that they will probably have to manage two the future dynamics of the executive and therefore "frightened" with respect to the burdensome responsibilities that will come.
Only and uniquely a renewed "new Italian miracle" (interpreted and revisited by anyone on the basis of the economic recipes carried out at the time by the Tremonti-Berlusconi pairing) which once constituted the propaganda synthesis of the phenomenon of "Berlusconi", and which had found its fulcrum in the slowdown of policies to combat tax evasion and in the measured weighting of any traceability of money movements, as well as in the mitigation of the tax burden, could restore dignity to the Italian political structure and, at the same time, give a little 'of coveted "oxygen" to the Italians reduced to their exhaustion.
Why not think about it?
