Colors and shapes interact in a balance reminiscent of the musical concept where independent lines combine. Titled "The Dream of Counterpoint," Paola Puccini's exhibition is on display until January 6th at Abetone Arti Visive, on Viale Italia in Sassari.
Milanese Paola Puccini lives and works in Sardinia as a teacher at the Filippo Figari Art High School. Having studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sassari, she subsequently earned a degree in Educational Sciences and completed a comprehensive program in visual arts, clinical pedagogy, and teaching. In 2007, she qualified to teach Human Sciences; in 2009, she founded the GIPA art group with Gigliola Lai. In 2011, she attended the two-year Master's program in Clinical Pedagogy in Cagliari, and in 2024, she obtained a qualification in graphic design, painting, and scenography.
Paola Puccini's painting emerges as an act of conscious joy, a constructive force that is both ethical and aesthetic. In her works, color and form act as autonomous voices that interact in dynamic equilibrium, recalling the musical concept of counterpoint and giving rise to a true pictorial symphony. What emerges is a vision of space as a living organism, capable of uniting geometric order and imagination.
Curator Gian Carlo Catta, an artist active in the figurative arts and a former teacher at the Sassari Art School, emphasized the value of initiatives like this during the presentation: "In a time when darkness seems to prevail, art has the duty—and perhaps the mission—to rekindle the light."
