A Sardinian quartet of great style to close the 2025 edition of Jazz in Hall, the festival dedicated to contemporary jazz directed by pianist Mariano Tedde. Tomorrow at 9 pm in the usual spaces of the Music Hall in Sassari, the Elias Lapia Quartet will perform.
The quartet, led by saxophonist Elias Lapia, brings together four prominent musicians from the Italian jazz scene, in a sonic journey rooted in American post-bop, enriched by bold harmonic experimentation and incisive swing.
Elias Lapia , born in Nuoro in 1995, is one of the most promising talents of his generation: winner of the Massimo Urbani Prize and the Bettinardi National Prize, he completed his training between the Conservatories of Paris and The Hague, collaborating with internationally renowned artists and publishing two albums under his own name for the Emme Record Label.
With him on stage the young pianist from Cagliari Marco Morandini, already active in several projects on the national scene, capable of combining technique and expressive sensitivity. In the rhythm section two historic names of Sardinian jazz: Salvatore Maltana , double bass player with international experience, today artistic director of the Nuoro Jazz Festival, and Gianrico Manca , drummer and teacher, with a twenty-year career between concerts, record productions and training projects.
