The electoral law will be brought to the Chamber of Deputies for general debate on June 26. The center-right group leaders have asked the meeting of the Chamber of Deputies' group presidents to include it on the agenda in June.
And it was a brawl: at the end of a group leaders' meeting that lasted over an hour, the presidents of the opposition groups and their deputies went on the attack.
"It's yet another twist of fate by a majority obsessed with changing the rules of the game," says Democratic Party member Chiara Braga. "This is the first electoral law made with press releases," emphasizes Riccardo Ricciardi (M5S). "There's no limit to the worst. We can't accept this kind of approach."
"They're treating it as if it were a decree," observes Riccardo Magi, "to limit the timeframe. We told the president this is unacceptable." "In the coming weeks," said Marco Grimaldi (Avs), "we will continue to ask all institutions, including the presidencies, not to overstep the mark."
