A large turnout at the MUT (Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) in Stintino for the conference entitled "The Domus de Janas in UNESCO World Heritage," presented by Professor Giuseppa Tanda and archaeologist Luca Doro. The evening celebrated the process that led to the nomination and recognition of the Domus de Janas during the forty-seventh session of the World Heritage Committee as the 61st Italian UNESCO site.
This important recognition, promoted by the CeSIM Sardinia Association and the network of Domus de Janas municipalities, attests to the exceptional universal value of the largest display of prehistoric underground funerary architecture in the Mediterranean. The evening's guests of honor were Giuseppa Tanda, president of CeSIM and former professor of Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Cagliari, and Luca Doro, a freelance archaeologist specializing in Prehistory and Protohistory. The scholars presented the archaeological sites and elaborated on recent discoveries.
The evening concluded with a debate on future prospects, much to the delight of the audience. There was no shortage of questions, making the evening even more engaging.
