"Best documentary short" award to the docufilm Profondo nero by the Sardinian director Roberto Pili, produced by Francesco Pili. The award was given in the fifth edition of the Hip hop Cinefest in Rome, one of only three festivals in the world entirely dedicated to hip hop culture as an artistic, social and political language, hosted in recent days at the Casa della Cultura of Villa De Sanctis in Torpignattara.
The film, already a winner at the latest editions of the Coliseum International Film Festival and Ilcorto.it in Rome, is an emotional and visual journey that explores the relationship between urban art and mental health, through the authentic and profound testimony of the Sardinian writer Davide Lai, aka Nero.
"This recognition has deeply moved me - said Pili upon receiving the award - I would like to thank with all my heart the director Giulia Chimp Giorgi, the entire organization of Hip hop Cinefest and the jury for believing in Profondo Nero and for the precious work you do in promoting hip hop culture in all its facets. An award to share with all the actors of this project: This award belongs to all of us!".
For the 2025 edition, 115 projects from 26 countries have been selected, including long documentaries, short documentaries, short fiction films, feature films, experimental projects, web projects, series and music videos.
