The Craft space opens in the former tobacco factory in Cagliari, the center for the study of Sardinian craftsmanship.

To inaugurate it, there will be two days – November 16 and 17 – of exhibitions, insights and screenings. The space is designed to document, protect and innovate Sardinian craftsmanship.

Craft ( Craftsmanship Research Center between the Future and Tradition ) is a project by Sardegna Ricerche which aims to document the Sardinian craftsman and promote the encounter between tradition and technology: a place of contamination between different worlds and points of reference not only for craftsmen, but also for architects, designers, students and scholars.

First event on Wednesday 16 November at 9.30, an introduction to the work of Ambra Pintore . Then the thematic meetings: "Safeguarding and active protection of traditional knowledge and traditional cultural expressions" and "Documenting tradition". Finally, the preview screening of the docufilm "Eréntzia, legacy of artisan value in Sardinia".

On the other hand, November 17 will be dedicated to the thematic sessions "Identity design" and "Craftsmanship as social capital for local development projects".

"The Creativity Factory - declares Maria Assunta Serra, general manager of Sardegna Ricerche - is enriched with a new and precious element: a center entirely dedicated to craftsmanship and identifying knowledge".
