The Court of Auditors of Sardinia certifies the regularity of the electoral expenses of the M5s and the pentastellato electoral committee. The documents filed by all the parties after the elections for the Regional Council held on February 24, 2024 were defined as correct.

An ordinary provision of the control body filed in recent days that has unleashed a wave of positions by former grillini at all institutional latitudes, from Parliament to the hall in Via Roma: «The Court of Auditors», is the common thesis of all the declarations, « has certified the absolute regularity of the reporting of expenses for the electoral campaign for the election of the President of the Region, not only for the M5S, but also for the electoral committee. This is the absolute confirmation of what has been repeatedly supported and declared in recent weeks: the electoral committee, and the M5S, have operated in a legitimate and transparent manner with regard to the reporting of Alessandra Todde». Hence the conclusion: since everything is in order for the electoral committee and M5S, then there are no reasons for the president to be removed from office, as instead supported by the regional electoral guarantee board that issued the injunction order on January 3.

But the supervisory body established in the Court of Appeal in Cagliari has never questioned the accuracy of the accounting of parties or committees that supported Todde in the challenge against Paolo Truzzu.

The points on which the forfeiture is based are different and concern the management of the presidential campaign, with the current governor who first claimed to have incurred expenses and then, in the documents, declared not to have spent anything. This in the absence of an electoral agent and a dedicated current account that, according to the guarantee board, the national law - absorbed in its entirety by the regional one - considers reasons for forfeiture.

Another thread has been grafted onto the story: the legislation was “given birth” to the expenses of individual regional councilors. Todde is one too, but if she, as president, falls, the entire Regional Council falls. And this is considered an “abnormal consequence” by the Executive and Council, so much so that an appeal has been filed on the point with the Constitutional Court. Another front, in addition to the appeal before the ordinary Court where the battle will come to the fore on March 20, with the first hearing.
