Bruno De Salunes, Stefan Milenkovich, Martina Consonni, and Silvia Careddu: the Classical Music Festival Costa Smeralda returns with renowned artists. Between September 4th and 12th, the Porto Cervo Conference Center will host the sixth edition of the classical music festival, curated by the Costa Smeralda Consortium. The festival opens on Thursday with a performance by renowned soprano Bruno De Salunes, featuring several of the most celebrated arias from the Baroque repertoire.
The Brazilian singer will be accompanied by the "Antonio Vivaldi" Orchestra of Venice, led by Konzertmeister Guglielmo De Stasio, with its exceptional soloists. On Monday, September 8th, it will be the turn of the former child prodigy violinist Stefan Milenkovich, who, with the support of the "Antonio Vivaldi" Orchestra, will perform Mozart's Concerto K. 216 and several virtuoso pieces such as "Zigeunerwaise" and "Introduction and Tarantella" by Pablo de Sarasate.
The third event, scheduled for Wednesday the 10th, will be dedicated to emerging young talents: pianist Martina Consonni will perform Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy's First Piano Concerto (version for piano and strings), accompanied by the "Antonio Vivaldi" Orchestra. This will be followed by a performance of Gioacchino Rossini's First String Sonata, performed by the "Antonio Vivaldi" Orchestra.
Finally, on September 12th, the fourth and final evening will feature flutist Silvia Careddu, who will perform Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra and other famous pieces. Known for having been principal flute of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Silvia Careddu began her musical studies at the Conservatory of Cagliari, her hometown, and continued her studies in Paris, where she graduated with the compliments of the jury from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris.
The events will begin at 9:30 pm, with free admission to the Porto Cervo Conference Center.
