Transcriptions for piano and guitar are the most numerous and have enjoyed the greatest success. The idea, however, is to compare them, by listening to the piece in two different instrumental versions, to better understand the variations in color and dynamics offered by the two instruments. As part of "Conservatory Wednesdays," the Sala Sassu of the "Canepa" in Sassari will host the comparative concert " Transcriptions: Metamorphosis in Sound between Guitar and Piano" on May 27th at 7:00 PM, featuring guitarist Marco Carta and pianist Roberto Piana .

The two artists will perform the same program, first for guitar and then for piano, to offer the audience a comparable listening experience. Admission to the concert is free.

The program includes performances of Valses Poéticos by Enrique Granados, transcribed for guitar by Paolo Pegoraro and revised for piano by Roberto Piana, Étude No. 1 from 12 Études and Prélude No. 3 from 5 Préludes by Heitor Villa Lobos, transcribed for piano by Roberto Piana and José Vieira Brandão, and finally the Chaconne from the Violin Partita No. 2 BWV 1004 by Johann Sebastian Bach, transcribed for guitar by Andrés Segovia and for piano by Roberto Piana.
