The Basilica of San Gavino in Porto Torres will host the "CorosJuntos" event, an initiative sponsored by Fersaco throughout the island and organized locally by the Turritano Polyphonic Choir. The house formation, directed by Maestro Laura Lambroni, will share the stage with the vocal group "Laeti Cantores" from Cagliari, directed by Maestro Mario Fulgoni and accompanied for the occasion on the harpsichord by Maestro Elisabetta Panzan. The event will be held on Saturday 3 December, at 20.30.

The initiative supported by the Sardinian Regional Federation of Choral Associations aims to encourage the exchange of experiences and mutual listening even between distant associations. The Turritano Polyphonic Choir, founded sixty-three years ago in Porto Torres, has an intense artistic activity to its credit , with a repertoire ranging from Gregorian chant to contemporary choral music, up to music of Sardinian popular inspiration. He has numerous prizes on his showcase, participation in festivals in Italy and abroad, recordings for radio and TV, recordings.

Active since August 2000, the vocal group "Laeti Cantores" of Cagliari boasts a repertoire that ranges from 15th century polyphony to the polyphony of various contemporary authors . The ensemble has won awards, collaborated with various theater companies and has taken part in prestigious polyphonic reviews. «It will be an evening of music and hospitality, because the spirit with which the CorosJuntos event was born is precisely that of sharing the passion for polyphony», underlines the president of the Turritano Polyphonic Choir Association, Maria Maddalena Simile. "We have joined this initiative with conviction and we thank once again the parish priest of the Basilica of San Gavino, Monsignor Salvatore Masia - concludes Maria Maddalena Simile - for allowing us to host the "Laeti Cantores" Vocal Group in a splendid setting like that of the Basilica largest Romanesque in Sardinia, a spiritual temple but also a home for lovers of polyphonic music».
