From the Middle Ages to the contemporary age, passing through the Renaissance, the Baroque, popular and Gregorian chants: four centers and seven events in four days, from 1 to 4 September . The 39th edition of the “Voices of Europe” international festival was presented this morning in the Sassari Chamber of Commerce because it is included in the calendar of Salude & Trigu events.

Organized by the Turritano Polyphonic Choir, it will start on September 1st at 9 pm in the late Romanesque church of Santo Stefano in Monteleone Rocca Doria . Opening greetings from the Porto Torrese choir directed by Laura Lambroni, followed by the French female vocal trio Unio, who will perform popular songs from all over the world.

In the following days the festival will stop at the Littu di Santa Maria Coghinas municipal park, in the abbey of San Pietro di Sorres (Borutta) and of course in Porto Torres, in the basilica of San Gavino and in the Antiquarium Turritano. Art'n'Voices, a Polish octet that offers both ancient and contemporary music of its own composition, and the Piccoli Cantori di Torino will also perform.

There will also be concerts by three other Sardinian ensembles: the Cagliari quartet La Stagion Novella, the Musica Antiqua Complex in Porto Torres, the Sassari ensemble Pietro Allori and the Madrigalisti Turritani.

The concerts on 2 September offered by the Turritano Polyphonic Choir on board the motor ship that leads to the island-park of Asinara are worth noting.

As explained by the artistic director Laura Lambroni: “The objectives of the festival are to create situations of exchange, dissemination and growth”.
