Drastic decisions by UEFA in light of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The Champions League final scheduled for May 28 in Saint Petersburg has been moved to Paris, at the Stade de France. A decision that the Kremlin has described as "shameful".
UEFA also announced that Russian and Ukrainian clubs competing in international competitions "until further notice" must play their home games in neutral venues.
The decision of the executive committee called urgently for the ongoing war concerns in particular Spartak Moscow, competing in the Europa League, but not the play-off for the 2022 World Cup between Russia and Poland scheduled for March 24 in Moscow, which instead it depends on FIFA.
