The Cagliari Primavera team achieved a comeback victory, 2-1, against Fiorentina. Pisacane's team temporarily moves to -4 from the playoff zone while awaiting the matches (scheduled for tomorrow) of the three direct competitors: Sassuolo, Turin and Milan. If all three were to win, the rossoblù would mathematically be out of the championship play-offs with two days left in the regular season.

The race

Excellent approach from the Sardinians who came close to scoring the lead in the 5th minute with Vinciguerra but Leonardelli was superb. The Viola responded in the 9th minute with Presta's header blocked by Auseklis. Pisacane's team plays carefree and seems to be in control of the match. But in the 24th minute Fiorentina took the lead through Baroncelli. Virtually nothing happens until the 45th minute.

In the second half Cagliari began along the lines of what they did in the first half and in the 51st minute they equalized from the spot with Carboni. In the 56th minute Marcolini almost doubled the lead from a corner. The Sardinians risked only once, in the 72nd minute, on Gudelevicius's shot from the edge of the box which was blocked by a reactive Auseklis. Pisacane's team finally managed to overturn it in the 82nd minute with Bolzan's header from Carboni's free kick from the edge of the area. In the final the rossoblù manage the advantage. The Viola, however, finished the match with ten men due to the expulsion of Gudelevicius for a second yellow card.

Cagliari thus climbs to ninth place, at 44 points, and is hoping for missteps from its direct competitors. But to get through to the playoffs, a miracle will be needed.
