Fifty-seven festivals and ninety-one awards. With these numbers, the film “La sposa nel vento”, by the Cagliari director Giovanni Coda, produced by the Roman Movie Factory, won first place in the special ranking certified by the film magazine Cinemaitaliano.info of the most awarded films in the world, released in theaters, in the year 2022.
A ranking which includes directors of the calibre of Giuseppe Tornatore, Mario Martone, Roberto Andò and Gianni Amelio and which highlighted the films' presence at international festivals and the official awards received.
"With this further recognition, one of the most intense distribution seasons of my career comes to a close - comments Coda - I am truly very happy, and it could not be otherwise, with the results that the film has achieved all over the world. I dedicate the award to the memory of dear Adriano Aprà, who recently left us and left an unfillable void in the support and promotion of independent cinematography".
"Bride in the Wind" had its world premiere in the United States at the Social Justice Film Festival & Institute in Seattle, Washington, in the University Heights spaces, where Coda's previous film "Il Rosa Nudo" from 2013 had already been presented and awarded as Best Feature Film.
Dedicated to gender violence, “La sposa nel vento” features the participation of actress Serra Yilmaz and actor Lorenzo Balducci in the cast. A tough, powerful, current and transversal story, which addresses the moral theme of femicide and violence against women and is inspired by many stories of female figures from different cultures and origins, united by a message of denunciation and at the same time of hope. Among them is also represented the figure of Antonia Mesina, the young woman from Orgosolo who was the victim of the brutal murder that occurred in 1935 and beatified in 1987 by John Paul II.
