The best sheep farm in Sardinia is that of Mario Picciau , of Monastir , who had the maximum score in the evaluation of the six hundred sheep on display, considered among the best qualities in Italy, in the regional sheep show which took place in Macomer the last week.

Second place went to the kennel of Costanzo Salaris from Sedilo, third was that of Angelo Corrias from Selegas and fourth was Giuseppe Matta from Nurri . The other farms that participated in the important event are nevertheless considered of high value.

The ranking was drawn up by a team of experts, such as Antonio Marzuolo, Gian Matteo Sanna, Pasquale Furcas and Carlo Desogus.

«We feel satisfied with the result obtained - says Luciano Mazzette , city councilor and promoter of the initiative - it was a moment of great participation and sharing , thanks to the collaboration and commitment of councilor Fabiana Cugusi and councilor Toto Listo, of the Municipality of Macomer, the Region, Laore and Agris, the veterinary service of the ASL, the Pro Loco and the Esedra cooperative. A very positive experience that must certainly be repeated and improved."

The presence of the biodiversity of the Sardinian breed is important, with the Sardinian pig, the Sardinian brown breed cattle, the Sardinian Bruna breed, the white Asinara donkeys, the black Arbus sheep and with the participation of the Piedmontese breed. It is the intention of the regional council, through the declarations of the agriculture councilor, to transform the Macomer exhibition into a national event.
