The annual Veronafiere 5StarWines & Wine Without Walls wine selection closed yesterday. A total of 960 wines were selected, respectively 651 for the section of conventional wines 5StarWines and 309 for Wine Without Walls, the section dedicated to wines certified organic, biodynamic or produced by companies that adhere to special sustainability protocols.

These are the wines that have obtained a score equal to or greater than 90/100 following the blind tasting carried out by the international jury of the event.

About 70 experts - chosen from Master of Wine, Master of Sommelier, Wset graduates, Italian Wine Ambassadors and Experts certified by the Vinitaly International Academy, oenologists and journalists - examined, commented and evaluated the over 2300 registered references. And among the wines and producers selected, those that obtained the best results were also awarded a further Trophy, a special mention assigned during the third day of examination by the panel of General Chairs.

Among the awards assigned, the best Italian wine award went to the Cantina della Vernaccia with Vernaccia di Oristano DOC Riserva "Judikes" 2008.
