Reflections on the unity of scientific and humanistic cultures - The contribution of astronomy and astrophysics from antiquity to the present day.
It is the title of the cultural residential event of didactic and scientific innovation that Sassari will host from 2 to 5 May. The initiative aims to overcome the traditional separation between scientific and humanistic cultures, adopting a multidisciplinary method in both study and research.
Promoter of the initiative, aimed at its teachers and students, is a network called AstroSardegna, which includes 6 high schools: the Dettori High School in Tempio, the Pacinotti and Euclide Scientific High Schools in Cagliari, the Leonardo da Vinci High School in Lanusei, the Mariano IV High School of Oristano and the “G. Marconi” of Sassari which is the leader.
Four days and so many themes and reports on the bill: Tuesday we start in the great hall of the University of Sassari, Wednesday a visit to Selargius and the Sardinia Radio Telescope of San Basilio, Thursday appointment at Villa Mimosa and Sassari and closing on Friday at the Marconi Scientific and Linguistic High School in Sassari.
The event will be attended by experts from INAF (the national institute of astrophysics), from the Italian Astronomical Society. The event is also organized with the patronage of the Ministry of Education and Merit, the School Office of Sardinia and the University of Sassari.
