The music of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries in the refined interpretation of one of the most versatile and brilliant ensembles in Europe. On Friday at 6.30 pm the Aula Magna of the University of Sassari hosts "La Guirlande" , the group founded by Luis Martínez Pueyo during his stay in Switzerland at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.

The concert involves the use of authentic period instruments or very similar replicas, using in-depth historical research on performance practice coming from a variety of treatises and sources. The main aim is to obtain a performance of the repertoire as close as possible to each composer's original idea.

The evening's program will recall the melodies of the brothers Josep and Joan Baptista Pla, among the most famous Spanish virtuosos of the 18th century, the harmonies of the Alicante violinist Joaquín Nicolás Ximénez Brufal, the notes of the flautist Felipe Lluch, then those of the composer Giacomo Facco , violinist of the Royal Chapel at the court of Felipe V and teacher of Prince Don Luis, and finally those of Joan Cabanilles, organist in the cathedral of Valencia in 1655, where he had replaced Jerónimo de la Torre. The concert is a preview of the VI International Festival of ancient music "timeless notes" organized by the APS Musicale "Dolci Accenti" association, which in 2024 celebrates twenty years of activity.
