From prehistoric times to today. Two days of conference with over 20 speakers to talk about Chiaramonti and its territory. The appointment organized by the Institute of Sciences, Letters and Arts (Issla) begins on Saturday at 9 in the Council Chamber of the Municipality with the contribution of the MIC - Directorate General for Education, Research and Cultural Institutes of the Ministry of Culture and the collaboration of the Municipality of Chiaramonti .

The historic village and its territory contain a cultural heritage of exceptional value which includes a significant number of archaeological sites from all eras (over 120 nuraghi), portions of uncontaminated territory and of naturalistic value. The urban center, founded in 1349/50 as a castle of the powerful Genoese Doria family, became the capital of the historic region of Anglona and retains high urban and architectural values. Equally rich is the literary, artistic and musical production, with well-known artists starting from the eighteenth century.

Tomorrow's works will begin after the performance of the Coro de Tzaramonte directed by Maestro Salvatore Moraccini.

As regards archeology, all the historical periods will be addressed which starting from the Neolithic, with the studies on hypogeal burials ( domus de Janas ), continue in the Bronze Age, with the exceptional quantity of monuments of the Nuragic period and in the Roman, up to the Middle Ages with a focus on the ruins of the castle and up to the modern age. Among the speakers Alma Casula, Marco Milanese, Pina Corraine, Nadia Canu and Maria Cherchi.

The work will continue in the afternoon at 3.30 pm with the session “The last two centuries and the historical-artistic-ethnographic heritage” and will close on Sunday morning with the reports on “The environment, the landscape, the settlement”.
