From the most famous cooks, worthy of extra luxury hotels, to the less qualified cleaners, passing through technicians, barmen, waiters and lifeguards.

In recent weeks, the job offer has been transformed into a desperate appeal shared by hundreds of Sardinian entrepreneurs: “We are urgently looking for new staff to be hired in hotels, restaurants, bars and campsites”.

From north to south, from the east to the west coast, the island's accommodation facilities are unable to find workers in view of the upcoming summer season. The contracts offered, although seasonal, are almost always regular and with respectable salaries, but those who are willing to sign them seem to have disappeared.

"Hiring new staff has become an almost impossible undertaking - confirms Carlo Amaduzzi, owner of a structure that has been successfully working in Ogliastra for years - and it is obvious that the introduction of subsidies for the unemployed has had a negative impact. Many, in fact, have refused our offer so as not to risk losing the aid. I therefore suddenly found myself faced with a paradox: the introduction of the Citizenship Income was conceived precisely to facilitate the professional integration of the unemployed, while the greater deterrent to accept a new occupation ".
