There's still one more firework to go after Tony Pitony's Tuesday night performance in Sassari, which drew and entertained three thousand spectators. On Thursday, again in Piazza Università, at 8:30 p.m., Nu Genea will close the 28th Abbabula Festival.

The duo Nu Genea, aka Massimo Di Lena and Lucio Aquilina, offers music that blends styles and sounds from the Gulf of Naples—funk, disco, jazz-funk, and Mediterranean electronica—transforming the musical roots of the Neapolitan city into a contemporary and international language. This mix makes them among the most innovative bands on the national scene.

This will be the thirteenth and final concert in a truly rich and varied lineup, which began in Sassari on May 7th and 9th with Fabio Celenza (a well-known comic voice actor) and Tony Hadley, and continued in Porto Torres with Daniele Silvestri, in Porto Ferro with Napoli Segreta, and in Sennori with Ze' Ibarra and Il mago del Gelato, interspersed with Sergio Cammariere. Then, the return to Sassari with the DisOrchestra and Francesca Corrias for a tribute to Ornella Vanoni, the return of Alberto Fortis, guitarist Eric Johnson, the aforementioned Tony Pitony, followed by La Terapia, Vulika Rot, Mad Dog, and Santamarea. Not to mention the opening and closing slots for several young Sardinian artists.
