The Sassari Chamber of Commerce's intuition celebrates its 10th anniversary and hosted a presentation in the prestigious Sala Specchi of the Unioncamere in Rome. This morning, the tenth edition of the Vermentino Enoliterary Prize was presented, celebrating the inseparable bond between wine culture and the art of storytelling, showcasing works that narrate the world of winemaking and the work among the vines.
The Prize, which enjoys the patronage of Unioncamere , sees the collaboration of the Municipalities of Olbia and Castelnuovo Magra , areas of excellence where the Vermentino grape finds its ideal habitat. Over the past ten years, the competition has involved over 200 writers and all the most important publishing houses, establishing itself as a national benchmark for thematic literary prizes.
Italian publishers have until June 1, 2026, to nominate published works of fiction that have drawn inspiration from the world of wine. In addition to the overall winner, the Jury will award the "Premio Territorio" Special Mention (introduced in 2023) for volumes that celebrate local identities and, for the second consecutive year, the "Premio Narrativa Straniera" Mention, open to works translated into Italian.
The launch was attended by Stefano Visconti, President of the Sassari Chamber of Commerce and Chair of the Award Jury; Pietro Esposito, Secretary General of the Chamber; Sabrina Serra, Deputy Mayor of Olbia; Marco Piro, President of the Vermentino Consortium; Aldo Addis, Vice President of the Italian Booksellers Association; and Giuseppe Tripoli, Secretary General of Unioncamere.
The President of the Sassari Chamber of Commerce, Stefano Visconti, stated: "Reaching its tenth edition means having transformed a courageous intuition into a consolidated reality in our cultural and economic landscape. The 'Vermentino' Award is not only a celebration of the ancestral bond between our land and the vine, but has become a powerful tool for territorial marketing." He highlighted
