Carlos Sainz, who has the same name as his son and is a rally driver, was involved in an accident this afternoon inside the Teulada military range during the Island X Prix 1, the first of two rounds of Extreme E , the electric suv championship.
The pilot of the Acciona Team, 60 years old, was transported by helicopter to the Brotzu hospital in Cagliari. As far as we know, his conditions are not serious, but the outcome of the medical examinations is awaited.
The details of the accident are not yet known, but Sainz Senior apparently got out of the vehicle on his own. However, the organization's medical staff decided to have him examined in the hospital, where he was taken with a helicopter made available to the organization.
