The regional councilor for Planning and Budget, Giuseppe Fasolino, met with the mayors of the Union of Municipalities of the Lower Campidano (Villasor, Nuraminis, Monastir, San Sperate, Samatzai and Ussana), which has a total population of 30 thousand inhabitants, and those of the Union of Municipalities Monte Idda and Fanaris (Vallermosa, Siliqua, Villaspeciosa and Decimoputzu), where about 12 thousand people live.

These are areas that have lagged behind in planning due to the slowdowns linked to the pandemic, for which the Regional Council intends to finance targeted interventions to increase their attractiveness from a social, economic and environmental point of view and to promote economic diversification.

An allocation of over 16 million euros is foreseen for these municipalities.

"We have territories with significant growth potential that deserve to be supported with all those actions capable of stopping the exodus of young people and depopulation. Today a new scenario is opening up that will allow us to commit huge resources. The Region's objective is to trace a joint planning that overcomes the critical issues and opens a path of ideas capable of relaunching local development policies. Only by listening to the needs of the communities and by accelerating the timing of implementation of the interventions can we guarantee the revitalization of the territories ", declared Fasolino.

The planning fund was established in the regional budget: 40 million to anticipate the planning costs of local authorities, useful for restarting investments and creating development and jobs.

Strategic will also be the control room for the unitary programming of development policies coordinated by President Christian Solinas and composed of the competent councilors of the programs co-financed with European resources and the environmental councilor responsible for the sustainable development strategy, in addition to the representatives of the system. local authorities and economic and social partnerships.
