"We talked about many things," said he, Edoardo Rixi , the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, after meeting President Alessandra Todde at five in the afternoon, in the Palazzo della Regione in viale Trento. Political gallantry that left in the hands of the hostess alone the complete narrative of a face to face meeting defined by the governor herself as "an all-round discussion to identify the real needs of the Island."

Todde summarized that hour of meeting in a note starting from an agreement that is very important for the Council. "We will soon convene a table in Rome dedicated to the new model of territorial continuity . It will be essential to address the discussion with the European Commission jointly. For the first time, Sardinia will not present itself alone but in a shared national context. On this point there is full agreement and we will move together."

On the plane game, so far the Council has not played with its own cards, but has organized flights at controlled prices for the Sardinians according to the model inherited from the center-right. Soon instead there will be " the new tender " where the Campo Largo will be able to measure its ability to manage the right of the Sardinians to mobility, "a decisive step to guarantee efficient and sustainable connections with the rest of the country", Todde specified. At the center of the discussion also investments in trains , an area in which the governor hoped that "Rfi will operate more effectively than in the past, with adequate investments to connect ports and airports and make the most of Sardinia's infrastructure".

Rixi then moved to Molo Ichnusa for the joint conference with the president of the Port Authority, Massimo Deiana . The mayor of Cagliari, Massimo Zedda , also arrived in the Executive Room to "bring the city's greetings to the deputy minister". Rixi, who stopped with journalists for about ten minutes, reiterated the investment line anticipated in an interview with Unione Sarda. " Cagliari will be the port of the future, the signs of rebirth are starting to be seen - said the deputy minister -, certainly events like that of the Porto Canale with the farewell of the reference player must not be repeated. In any case, the Government's attention remains maximum for all the ports of the Island, because each has its own characterization and therefore a role in the regional maritime system".

Precisely on the management front, in the hands of the Port Authority, Deiana's mandate expires in July , having reached his ninth year of presidency and no longer eligible for re-election. When asked specifically, Rixi confirmed that he "talked" about the future appointment with Todde, if only because the choice of the future top manager "will be shared with the Region". Rixi, in this perspective, is touring all the offices of the fourteen bodies "because the ports belong to everyone and we need to arrive at a choice that guarantees maximum collaboration with the territories ".

Finally, Deiana presented Rixi with a sort of end-of-term budget: " Works for over 780 million euros are underway ," said the outgoing president, "an overall vision that aims to make the Sardinia System a center of gravity for Italy's strategies in the Mediterranean." The Island has nine ports of call and one and a half million square meters "between dockside and back-dock spaces. The largest investment," Deiana explained, "is the ro-ro terminal at the Porto Canale in Cagliari, awarded for 290 million euros, out of an overall economic framework of 338, of which 99.35 million are PNRR funds."
