Aeroitalia takes everything. It is official that the airline has been awarded the territorial continuity flights from Cagliari to the airports of Rome Fiumicino and Milan Linate starting from next October 26. Aeroitalia will also connect the airport of Olbia to Milan Linate, while the Olbia-Rome Fiumicino route will be managed by Volotea and Aeroitalia, which will share the service without financial compensation. The era of Ita Airways (formerly Alitalia) which connected the Island to the main airports of the peninsula with the law on territorial continuity is therefore over. The routes to and from Alghero, however, remain to be assigned: the call for tenders by the Sardinia Region, in fact, had gone deserted. The new date marked on the calendar is October 9, for the opening of the envelopes and the completion of all the procedures relating to the assignment of the continuity routes from the airport of the Riviera del Corallo.

These are the offers that were received for the individual routes. CAGLIARI-ROME FIUMICINO: Aeroitalia compensation of 1,193,585 euros with a reduction of 85%; Ita Airways compensation of 3,580,754.34 euros with a reduction of 55%. CAGLIARI-MILAN LINATE: Aeroitalia compensation of 1,238,903 euros with a reduction of 77%; Ita Airways compensation of 2,423,941.08 euros with a reduction of 55%. OLBIA-ROME FIUMICINO: Ita Airways compensation of 1,059,272.60 with a reduction of 10%; Aeroitalia compensation of 235,394 with a reduction of 80%; Volotea compensation of 235,393.91 with a reduction of 80%. OLBIA-MILAN LINATE: Aeroitalia compensation of 539,907 euros with a reduction of 80%; Ita Airways compensation of 2,429,580.79 euros with a reduction of 10%.

As the Sardinia Region has announced, the sale of tickets in continuity for the period from October 27, 2024 to October 25, 2025 will be authorized as soon as the airlines communicate the flight schedule. "We have been working on the new model since the first days of the installation", explains the Councilor for Transport Barbara Manca. "Next Tuesday we will be in Rome at the Ministry of Transport to lay the foundations for effective collaboration to address all the steps necessary for the comparison with the European Commission. We would like to reiterate once again that our immediate objective was to act quickly to secure the connections in the short term , but our ultimate goal is to be able to offer Sardinian citizens a safe, satisfactory and long-lasting transport service", concludes the councilor.
