An explosion of bets on the expulsion of Nicola Bellomo, who was then actually kicked out by the referee while he was on the bench, has made the FIGC suspicious.

The episode occurred during the return match of the Serie B playout between Ternana and Bari, with the result now achieved with the Apulians ahead 3-0. The Bari midfielder was kicked off the bench, given a red card after an argument with a ball boy.

An episode that went unnoticed at the time, while the hard-fought salvation was being celebrated in Bari. Then the explosion of bets made a few hours earlier in a Bari betting shop was discovered and which focused on Bellomo, who had paid 24 times the stake.

For this reason, the FIGC chief prosecutor Giuseppe Chiné has opened an investigation.
