Poland's Iga Swiatek , world number 2 , has accepted a one-month ban for testing positive for trimetazidine during an out-of-competition test in August 2024, the International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) announced.

The defense's thesis that the positive test was due to the contamination of a regular melatonin-based drug , sold in Poland without a medical prescription, which Swiatek took to deal with jet lag , was deemed credible.

For this reason, the violation was not considered intentional.
