The historic Terranova Tennis Club in Olbia renews its management and aims to complete important projects. Giuseppe Bianco is elected president, while Nino Seu is vice president. The organization chart is completed by Valentino Coizza, secretary and treasurer, Lorenzo Cossu, sports director, Giovanni Tonzanu, head of the tennis school, Paolo Mendola, director of the club and head of the structure, and finally Fabio Satta, head of social activities.
"We hope that the Municipality of Olbia will soon complete the procedural process for the assignment of all the tennis club facilities to the ASD Tennis Club Terranova Olbia, inside the Fausto Noce park - says the new president - also due to the important investments, in conjunction with the same municipal administration, that we plan to make". These include the construction of a photovoltaic system that will make the structure energetically self-sufficient, the renovation of the changing rooms and club house and the construction of one or more padel courts.
The club is currently a point of reference at the regional level, with 7 fields, of which 5 in green set, one in clay and one in synthetic grass. «We want to confirm our projects and the results achieved, with the tennis school and the team championships, among which the flagship is our national men's B1 team – underlines Bianco again -. We have 15 teams including the youth teams and about 130 students from the tennis school». Among the objectives of the new management also the strengthening of social activities we want to grow with new initiatives related to the city. Baptism of fire for the tennis event “Olbia Challenger 125”, an international premiere that will take place at TC Terranova from 15 to 22 October.
Meanwhile, the first rounds of the Torneo del Mare are underway, the national Open with over 150 registered players, between men's and women's tournaments, and the possibility of new subsequent registrations with the entry into the tournament of second category players. «We will take advantage of the evening hours and it will be a great show, waiting for the October event for which we are proud and excited - concludes Bianco -. In September the tennis school will restart at full capacity, even if we keep the summer courses and the activity of competitive athletes. We count on confirming and indeed increasing the positive numbers of last year».
