Anna Floris will participate in the Prequalifications of the Internazionali Bnl d'Italia, scheduled at the Foro Italico in Rome from 2 May.
The expert left-handed from Cagliari, registered for the Eur coach, snatched the pass for Rome by reaching the final in the Open which saw 72 tennis players compete on the courts of Tennis e Sport Alberto Zizzini of Loano.
Floris, credited with the sixth seed, entered the scene in the round of 16, beating Sofia Antolini with a double 7-5. In the quarterfinals, victory in three sets (6-2, 6-7, 6-1) over the number 3 seed Chiara Fornasieri and an easier victory (6-2, 6-1) in the semifinal over Enola Chiesa, 865th in the world ranking and number 7 on the board. In the final, the victory went to the number 8 seed Gaia Squarcialupi (1002 WTA), who prevailed 6-2, 6-1 and she too will fly to the Foro Italico.
