With nearly 900 votes, Anna Paola Aisoni is the most voted candidate in the Tempio municipal elections. She won the race alongside the other elected councilors, but her seat will be on the opposition benches because she supported Gianni Addis, who was defeated in the final round on Sunday and Monday. Aisoni remains in office as vice president of the Northeast Province, having been appointed last year.
The now former deputy mayor of Tempio commented on the runoff outcome: "After two terms, Tempio residents generally want change; it's almost natural. The choice was clear. After the first round, many voters from the defeated lists, those who missed out on the runoff, moved in the same direction, I don't know if naturally or through some kind of direction. Regarding the runoff, I have to say that I don't know if Andrea Biancareddu supported Gianna Masu. However, I saw that on Monday he presented himself as the winner. Instead, he also lost, having failed to make it to the second round. I would also add that the voter chose the neutral, if we can call it that, the apolitical. Masu said she was detached from everyone else. This attitude reminds me so much of the Five Star Movement. Let's hope it isn't as disastrous an experience."
Aisoni continues: "I'm not depressed at all, quite the opposite. I'm ready to join the opposition, and the people of Tempio know me; I know how to do it. In fact, after years of working in various departments, I'm even more prepared and will be a qualified opposition. I'm used to studying and working hard on issues that concern the community I love and that continues to place its trust in me.
