There are 20 Italian municipalities out of 377 in Sardinia, all in the province of Nuoro, which will still be subject to restrictions on the movement and marketing of pigs due to the presence of raised and wild animals infected with swine fever .

These are the territories of Aritzo, Arzana, Baunei, Belvi, Desulo, Gavoi, Mamoiada, Ollolai, Olzai, Oniferi, Orani, Orgosolo, Orotelli, Ottana, Sarule, Talana, Tonara, Triei, Urzulei, Villagrande Strisaili .

This is what emerges from the new Regulation adopted by the EU Commission on the elimination of the total embargo on pork exported from Sardinia due to swine fever , which has been present on the island since 1978. It is also the only part of Italian territory in the which the greater firmness will be applied for export.

Liberated, even if not completely, other Sardinian territories between South Sardinia, Oristano, Sassarese and Nuorese which are also flanked by other areas of Italy identified in Piedmont, Liguria, Lazio, Emilia Romagna and Lombardy due to the less severe limitations of area I ; finally, in Piedmont, Liguria, Lazio and still in other areas of Sardinia there will be slightly more impactful controls and restrictions for zootechnical activities.

The next step is up to the Sardinia Region - with the regional zooprophylactic institute - and the Ministry of Health which will have to define the parameters for all the different groups identified by the community document.

The first meetings are already scheduled for this week given that the Regulation entered into force today, the day following its publication in the European Official Journal.
