Isola Rossa beach, in the municipality of Trinità d'Agultu, will once again host this year's Italian Surfing Championships, run by the Italian Surfing, Water Skiing, and Wakeboarding Federation. The Marinedda Bay Open - 2026 Absolute Shortboard Championship, dedicated to the Olympic discipline of men's and women's shortboarding, is scheduled for this fall with a weather window from September 15th to November 15th.
The new competitive surfing season on the Costa Rossa also marks the 22nd edition of the Marinedda Bay Open, Italy's longest-running contest. The competition, organized by the Marinedda Bay sports association, will once again crown new Italian champions.
Meanwhile, there will also be an opening show. In a spirit of change and innovation, this year the Marineddabay sports association has developed a competition with a new format that focuses on inclusion. The Wave Party , a side event and part of the summer sports entertainment program, will bring together young and old, men and women, and especially surfers of all levels in the water.
The Wave Party will be open to junior and open categories with all types of boards (shortboards, longboards, and softboards), with heats organized based on sea conditions. During the "wave party," participants will also be able to take part in a free surfing lesson, with limited places available. The waiting period for the Wave Party will open on August 15th and end on September 15th.
