"There are companies, like RWM, that have already made significant investments in the Sulcis area and created job opportunities for numerous workers, and they now want to grow further. We need to accelerate this ."

This is what was highlighted, according to what we learn, by the general director of Confindustria Sardegna Meridionale, Andrea Porcu , at the Sulcis table convened at the Ministry of Industry and Made in Italy.

Regarding the RWM Italia plant in Sulcis, Porcu emphasized that " the company has already made an initial significant investment to strengthen its presence in the area and at these production sites . Today, there is a desire to further develop these facilities, but some administrative steps appear to still be being finalized."

According to the findings of the discussion, the Sardinia Region's approval of the RWM Italia plant's full operation would represent a strategic opportunity, potentially generating up to 250 new hires.

"This investment would provide the area with a qualified workforce and, we believe, could foster the development of an industrial district beyond those already present," Porcu concluded.

Minister Adolfo Urso also agreed: "I support Confindustria's appeal. It is essential to unblock RWM's investment as soon as possible, sending a positive signal to international operators. " "The industrial revival of the area," the minister added, "is possible; let's work together constructively. I once again urge the Regional Council to evaluate this important and strategic investment, which would have significant employment benefits in the Sulcis area."

The Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy also recalled that he had already invited President Todde and Councilor Cani to deliberate on this investment proposal, which has already been examined by the relevant regional offices and is awaiting the Todde Council's decision . Urso also announced that in the coming days he will convene a specific meeting to discuss this important and significant investment, which would have a positive impact on employment, inviting the Regional Council to make its decisions in the meantime.

The summit did not fail to spark political controversy. Sardinian Senator Antonella Zedda, a member of the Brothers of Italy party, took the offensive: "Once again, Todde has turned her back on Sulcis , as she did as Deputy Minister and Undersecretary, and now as President of the Region, by deserting the meeting convened at the Ministry of Economic Development (MIMIT) to discuss the future of employment and production in the area . In her place, she delegated, due to a justified absence, Councilor Cani, who in turn chose not to show up and to speak only remotely , while unions and trade unions demonstrated their full commitment and sense of responsibility by participating in person."

"I'd be curious," Zedda adds ironically, "to know what Councilor Cani had on his agenda that prevented him from being in Rome today— perhaps a Councilor Manca-style dance in the regional government offices? This," the FdI representative concludes, "is the Todde government's concern for jobs, employment, and the future of Sulcis and Sardinia."
