No significant decisions, but the final handshake was not lacking. With the committees and the Pratobello Network protesting: "They have spoken little or nothing about suitable areas, but the proposed law of popular initiative is the only lifeline for Sardinia". An interlocutory meeting took place in Rome this morning between the Minister of the Environment, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, the governor Alessandra Todde and the Industry councilor Emanuele Cani. During the meeting, the so-called Sardinia Dpcm was discussed, relating to the identification of works and infrastructures for the gasification of the Island: the Region confirmed the changes to the gas supply infrastructure plan, which will soon be the subject of an operational meeting between the respective technical offices. In essence, the project, announced a few months ago by councilor Cani, to bring methane through gas transport ships, will be implemented.

The issues of suitable areas were also discussed, also in light of the recent challenge by the Council of Ministers of the Sardinian law, even if no particular reactions were received from the minister. Then there was space for strategic projects for critical raw materials concerning the Sardinian territory, currently being evaluated by the European Commission. The reference is to rare earths, of which the island is rich. "Today's meeting, despite the awareness of the different positions, was a useful and constructive discussion and constituted a necessary step towards overcoming the coal power plants present in Sardinia. Furthermore, we reiterated the Region's desire to respect the objectives of the Pniec by continuing to protect the interests of Sardinia and the Sardinians", jointly declared Todde and Cani.

President Todde reiterated to the minister that regarding the nomination procedures for park presidents and commissioners, " the agreement with the Region is an indispensable step. In the event that Sardinia is not involved, as per the rules, the Region will take steps to protect itself in the competent offices ."
