Success in Chicago (USA) for the 13 Sardinian wineries present at the International Wine Expo (IWE).

During the event, organized by Italian Expo and the Italian Chamber of Commerce of the MidWest USA, in collaboration with Vinitaly and with the support of all the ITA-ICE offices in North America, the Island confirmed its quality productions, with the uniqueness and thousand-year history of its vines and wines.

The Sardinian wineries represented the excellence of production in the spaces dedicated to the "Collettiva Sardegna", promoted by the Region through the Department of Agriculture and curated by Laore Sardegna. Almost two hundred Italian wineries took part in the American event.

More than 500 buyers from across the United States and Canada attended, with over 2,000 meetings between participating producers and traders organized before the event took place.

«We believed in the important participation of Sardinian wineries in this American edition of Vinitaly. Sardinian wines aroused great interest among the American and Canadian operators who attended – said the Agriculture Councilor, Valeria Satta -. The American one is the first market for Italian wines and our wineries still have important margins for growth, both for those that are already present with their own distribution network, which want to expand and strengthen, and for those that instead want to start working in this important market."

During the International Wine Expo, two tastings dedicated to Sardinian wines were held in order to explain to the participating operators the uniqueness of Sardinia and the variety of vines that the Region offers. «Sardinia - underlined Satta - expresses all its value in every test bed and also in this case the promotion of the territory has gone beyond expectations».
