Spelled, meat, cheese, oil, wine and an energy drink for Roman soldiers, especially for the military of the fortress who enjoyed three meals a day. The testimonies of the foods of the time were told on the occasion of the conference included in the context of the food and wine event entitled "It wasn't just Garum" which ended successfully in the two different areas, internal and external, of the Antiquarium Turritano museum in Porto Torres.

The conference, moderated by the journalist Emanuele Fancellu, was attended by Stefano Giuliani, director of the Antiquarium Turritano national museum, Gian Mirko Luiu professional cook, Maurizio Melis museum educator and Massimiliano Schirru, manager of the Roman castrum La Crucca. The speakers retraced the food and wine customs and traditions of the Roman age. At the end, a long line of people tasted the dishes offered to the public in the archaeological area, where more than 300 entries were registered.

«We have transformed a wonderful and suggestive place of culture into a place full of life, - said Gavino Sanna, municipal councilor - we have also rekindled the stoves of the taverns and retraced the food and wine history of ancient Rome. I think that places of culture must be experienced, only in this way can they really be valued". Rounding off a Roman aperitif at the Terme di Re Barbaro during which the cabaret show by the actor Federico Melis entitled "History in a comic key of Sardinia" was staged. The initiative was organized by the cultural association Le Botteghe Turritane under the patronage of the Municipality and in collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Museums of Sardinia.
