This year Musica per tutti's homage is not addressed to a composer, as in the past it was to Handel, Orff and Bach, nor to a century, but to the subject of the association's activity: choir music. Or rather, choir music.
And the next event in the review organized in Cagliari by Studium Canticum with the artistic direction of Stefania Pineider - a review that began on April 22nd and is destined to end on October 28th - will also be dedicated to these. Tomorrow at 8 pm, in the church of Santa Maria del Monte, “A bit of jazz” will be staged , an evening with a jazz theme, for instruments, voices and bodies that play. During which Scott Joplin's ragtime, with the famous "The entertainer", will be interpreted by the body musicians of Studium Canticum, led by Anna Rita Porcu who took care of the choreography, with Luca Cocco on piano, Andrea Lai on double bass, Andrea Murtas on drums.
The concert will continue with "Opening", a piece by Luca Cocco, and other jazz standards proposed by the trio, to arrive at the performance of Bob Chilcott's Nidaros Jazz Mass, interpreted by the mixed voice choir Ad libitum, directed by Stefania Pineider. Nidaros Jazz Mass is strong in the ability to draw on a variety of styles useful for creating a rather unusual sonorization of the Latin Missa brevis. With a delicate Kyrie, a funky Gloria, a ballad-like Sanctus, a relaxed Benedictus and a passionate Agnus Dei, they perfectly combine contemporary and ancient.
