A second attempt to sign striker Manuel Fischnaller also failed. Torres wanted to bring back to Sassari the key striker who led to two excellent seasons, finishing second and third, but the Bolzano native reached an agreement with Ravenna, the league's second-place finisher.

Fischnaller currently plays for Trapani, in Group C, where he has already scored 10 goals, but the club's critical condition (Antonini's club has been excluded from Serie A in basketball) makes him attractive.

The Sassari club is therefore left with two positions to fill: a left-footed defender to replace Mario Mercadante, who has gone to Casarano, and a striker to replace Starita, who has concluded his adventure on the island.
