Food stamps? We don't accept them today. So from this morning, also in Sardinia , the back and forth in the businesses that joined the strike: the 20% commissions considered by traders to be too high and unsustainable from an economic point of view are in the sights.

Commercial distribution companies are also participating in this initiative, which will end today, from small neighborhood shops to supermarkets and hypermarkets of organized distribution.

"With this day of suspension of the service we want to raise awareness among workers and, more generally, consumers on the very serious difficulties that our companies experience every day due to the high commissions we have to pay on meal vouchers - explains Emanuele Frongia , president of Fipe Confcommercio Sud Sardegna -. We are talking about a real hidden tax that also exceeds 20% of the value of the voucher ".

The payment system is not in question. "Ours - continues Frongia - is a protest that aims to safeguard the function of the meal voucher because if this continues, fewer companies will be willing to accept them. In short, the meal voucher risks becoming really unusable. There is. need for a real reform that will make the system economically sustainable also for our companies which, after all, are the ones that provide the service to workers. But it is equally urgent to ensure that the next 1.2 billion euro Consip tender is not awarded with the discounts of the previous ones because we will always pay them ".
