A permanent photographic exhibition open to the public to tell the story of the island of Asinara, landscapes, nature, but above all moments of life experienced during the prison era.

The exhibition entitled “Stories of Asinara” was set up in the building of the maritime quarantine health station in Cala Reale, now the Park House. The exhibition consists of a series of panels that reproduce some black and white photographs that portray Asinara in the first half of the twentieth century and come from the personal archive of Marina Massidda, who spent her childhood and youth at the Punta Scorno lighthouse , north of the island, together with his family. The father, Gian Franco Massidda, now 91 years old, was a lighthouse keeper in Punta Scorno, a sentinel of the sea who from his position was able to admire the beauty of Corsica in the distance and the villages overlooking the Gulf of Asinara.

The photographs are accompanied by some verses taken from the poem "Azenara" by Fabrizio Pittalis, poet from Turrita and guide of the Asinara National Park, who passed away a few years ago. To visit the exhibition you need to contact the Visitor Center of Cala Reale.
