Drought remains the problem of problems for the countryside of Sardinia. But the issue of climate change is not receiving adequate attention in the agenda of the Region and the Government . Also for this reason the Cagliari Federation of Coldiretti has organized a sit-in protest for tomorrow in front of the Cagliari Prefecture. "Immediate interventions for water infrastructures", we read in a press release.

The demonstrators will gather at 10:30 in Piazza Palazzo and, at 11, a delegation from Coldiretti, led by Giorgio Demurtas and Giuseppe Casu, president and director of the Cagliari Federation, will meet the prefect Giuseppe Castaldo.

"Despite the recent rains," the press release states, "the attention and concerns of farmers and breeders remain very high on the situation of serious difficulty in Southern Sardinia on the water front. Although the basins have recovered some of their capacity, they remain below the alert level and new restrictions are expected for this year (except for hoped-for rains) that can further put the already exhausted companies in difficulty." In recent days, Coldiretti has written to the regional departments of Agriculture and Public Works "for a discussion table to support the document of actions planned by the Land Reclamation Consortium of Southern Sardinia containing a series of infrastructure works necessary to help the water system become more efficient."
