Is an epochal turning point about to come against the so-called "pezzotto" that allows you to watch Serie A championship matches and sporting events in pirated streaming?

After several unsuccessful attempts, yesterday the Communications Regulatory Authority (AGCM) announced the launch of the anti-pezzotto platform by January 31st . Baptism postponed, because it was initially chosen to start it yesterday, on the occasion of Juve-Napoli. The fact is that the Agcm has defined the technical and operational requirements, now it is up to the companies that provide access to the Internet to organize themselves to make it operational and therefore obscure, upon reporting by the rights holders, the fraudulent vision of the event. They must do so, in fact, by January 31st.

Piracy Shield is the name of the platform whose goal is to intervene within half an hour to interrupt the viewing of the match or other live events . It works based on a machine to machine system: «The accredited owners, who have already obtained a precautionary measure for the protection of the protected right, in the face of further violations of the same right, can 'upload' the violation reports, assisted by an adequate evidentiary kit, on the platform which automatically directs them to the accredited ISPs who block the IP address and/or the FQDN (the full domain name) within the next 30 minutes", explains the Agcm.

In short, everything happens automatically after the report, which can come from either the broadcaster (Dazn in this case) or the Football League.

The end of the piece therefore seems to be near, and the Lega Serie A rejoices, given that piracy costs 350 million euros a year .
