Stefano Melis is the new general director of Cagliari Calcio. The rossoblù club made it official on its website. Melis will continue to lead the business and media area on a broad spectrum, one of the three - together with the corporate and sports areas - that make up the rossoblù corporate structure.
As per the press release, Stefano Melis has been at Cagliari since 2018, first as commercial director and later as director of strategic development, before taking on increasingly broader and more direct responsibilities in marketing and communication areas, revenue lines and the project of the new stadium . Born in Lanusei in 1979, his professional career includes experiences at Real Madrid in the marketing and new technologies sector, then positions of responsibility in the commercial area of Nike, Puma and Vans . For Nike he was also Global brand director football, from 2015 to 2018, supervising projects in the context of major international football events such as the World Cup, European Championship and Champions League.
