Only six of the fifteen Sardinian parliamentarians showed up in person for the hearing of the special committee on the Statute Law and the Implementation Rules convened by Regional Council President Piero Comandini. One member of the Five Star Movement, Mario Perantoni, joined remotely.    The session was completely deserted by Forza Italia and the League. Those present for the Democratic Party included MP and party secretary Silvio Lai and Senator Marco Meloni. For the Brothers of Italy, MPs Francesco Mura (party secretary), Salvatore Deidda (chair of the Transportation Committee in the Chamber of Deputies), and MP Gianni Lampis. Also present was MP Francesca Ghirra of the Progressives (elected with AVS). The session is underway. Current issues are also being considered, such as the government's energy decree, which Regional President Alessandra Todde has already announced a fight against.

"The autonomy system is starting to look old and needs updating," Mura explained before the meeting , immediately pointing the finger at the regional president who "never misses an opportunity to exacerbate the conflict with the government in terms of both manner and substance; this is a clear example." Then, "if I were her, I would abandon leadership of the fight against the greatest decentralization of power seen in Italy in the last thirty years, the differentiated autonomy process. The president should instead be leading the regions that are demanding greater autonomy."

According to Mura, "it is necessary to rewrite Sardinia's autonomous statute, which has become outdated by a system of overriding national regulations that render it ineffective. The Regional Council's difficulty in legislating is clear to everyone. To overcome this situation, we need to update the Statute, the regional form of government, and the capabilities that our autonomy has provided us until recently."

Ghirra spoke of the importance of amending the electoral law to ensure representation for all political parties excluded by this system. Regarding the Suitable Areas decree, " There's a need for reflection on the energy issue; the island needs to take ownership of its own competencies and spaces. Sardinia is the region with the greatest potential for energy production, especially wind and solar power, but it's unthinkable that we become yet another slave, with Sardinians unable to intervene to benefit from energy production. This is one of the issues I believe should be addressed as part of the Statute revision."

As for the national budget, "it once again excludes Sardinia from a plan to bridge the gaps that characterize our island compared to other regions."
