A second half of absolute value gives Cagliari a fundamental victory in the salvation clash with Lecce. The Salentini go ahead at half time, but the second half is all rossoblù: from 0-1 at half time to the final 4-1.

Cagliari very close to taking the lead in the 11th minute: a nice ball from Zortea on the right for Zappa to run in, a low cross for Felici to tap in on the edge of the six-yard box but the rebound favours Guilbert who saves almost without realising it. In the 19th minute, however, the ball in the box becomes good for Adopo but Falcone makes a great save on his left-footed shot with a sure shot .

Cagliari is still creating the best chances: in the 22nd minute, Felici makes an excellent recovery high up the pitch, passing to Zortea in the middle who lifts the ball to free Viola alone in front of Falcone, but the number 10 arrives a moment late and fails to touch. After many chances for the rossoblù, there is also one for Lecce, in the 32nd minute, Krstović frees himself well in the area and Caprile is very good at blocking his left foot .

A minute passes: a corner for Cagliari at the far post, Piccoli's pass turns into a shot and Krstović saves with his head on the line . The action continues and on a cross from the right Luperto tries with his back heel, a nice shot that goes just over. In the 41st minute Viola's goal is disallowed for offside, on the crossbar. But on the following action Tete Morente, found on the left, crosses low and Zappa's deflection makes the ball good for Pierotti whose low left-footed shot is worth 0-1 .

In the second half, Cagliari made a terrible start to the game, and in less than two minutes Lecce came close to doubling their lead with Krstović who misplaced a cross from the right and Pierret who kicked high from the edge. Nicola didn't like the start of the second half and in the 54th minute he made a triple substitution: Adopo (just booked) was out, Viola and Makoumbou were replaced by Deiola, Gaetano and Marin . There was immediately a precise cross from Zappa for Piccoli, whose header to the far post went just wide.

Nicola's move bears fruit in the 60th minute: Gaetano serves Deiola in the area, a great backheel to free the number 70 from running in alone in front of Falcone and a winning right-footer that makes it 1-1 . Riding the wave of enthusiasm (also understood by the crowd), Deiola controls a cleared corner and kicks with his right, the ball destined for the top corner and Falcone flies. But on the subsequent corner kick by Marin, Luperto deflects it into the net, with a touch from two steps between his shoulder and back . The score is overturned in five minutes, 60' and 65'.

In Lecce, from the 63rd minute, Rebić is on the pitch for Krstović. But the Croatian striker's match lasts just ten minutes: in the 72nd minute he fouls Mina and, when the Colombian falls in the area, he passes over him with his studs on his left arm. The referee gives a yellow card, then called to the VAR and changes it to a straight red: a very bad foul and a rightful expulsion .

Giampaolo's last two substitutions are Burnete and Karlsson for Tete Morente and Coulibaly. The game resumes (78') and with a left-footed shot from outside Augello grazes the post with Falcone immobile. The number 3, on the pitch since 74' for Felici, is very inspired and in the 80' with a splendid cross to the far post finds Zortea, who breaks free from the other number 19 Jean and heads the ball to make it 3-1, sending the 16,306 at Domus into a frenzy .

It's a rampant Cagliari, which in the 83rd minute also finds the magnificent poker goal: Marin serves Obert free on the right, control and spectacular left-footed shot that comes in softly with Falcone who can only watch . It's his first career goal. And for Cagliari it's a victory that means getting out of the relegation zone .
